Heddicraft Workshop

A training and employment program for people with disabilities, part of the THAM Digital Media project. This initiative involves documenting cultural activities to create promotional materials for the "Heddicraft" project.

The working committee of the training and internship program for people with disabilities, aimed at preparing them for employment in various enterprises, as part of the project to promote and develop the potential of people with disabilities and the elderly, organized an activity called 'Heddicraft Workshop.' This activity involved the participation of the main group of disabled individuals from the 'Digital Media Production' course. They were tasked with documenting and creating promotional materials for cultural activities organized by the main group of disabled individuals from the 'Local Cultural Product Development' course. This workshop took place from September 21st to September 24th, 2023, at the Man Gardens Creative Crafts Center in Muang District, Sakon Nakhon Province.

At this Heddicraft Workshop event, we had the honor of hosting guest speakers, Mr. Chatpong Chuenrudeemol, an artist and architect known for his work on creating value from unconventional architecture at CHAT Architects, and Mr. Man Pratch Niyomka, a renowned artist and international-level designer who specializes in creating art from natural pigments. Together, they guided the participants in designing and crafting scented candles and colored candles using natural pigments. They also demonstrated techniques for using natural pigment-colored candles to create freely expressive artworks, resulting in beautiful, innovative, and creative pieces.
The indigo scented candles, inspired by flower garlands and ancient rice offering vessels, were created by Mr. Man.
The light blue scented candles, inspired by textile weaving and silk spinning, were crafted under the guidance of Mr. Chatpong.
The sketches of the indigo bug were drawn by Mr. Chatpong.
The 'V'-shaped candles, inspired by storytelling, the tools of silk weaving, fabric weaving, and liberation from thoughts and control, were designed by Mr. Man.

They visited to offer encouragement and support to the "Create" Digital Media group and the "Heddicraft" group, who are individuals with disabilities.

During the aforementioned workshop activity, the main group of disabled individuals from the Digital Media course took videos of the process of making scented candles and colored candles from natural pigments. They also conducted interviews with guest speakers and individuals involved in the activity. These videos will be used to create promotional materials for the Heddicraft group. Additionally, a content promotion schedule for various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and   TikTok has been developed.
