Training and Internship Program for People with Disabilities: Exhibition Booth in the Promotion of Employing People with Disabilities in Compliance with the Employment of Disabled Persons Act Project 2023.
Friday, September 15th, 2023.
The working team of the Training and Internship Program for People with Disabilities, aimed at preparing them for employment in the workplace, under the Promotion and Development of the Potential of Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly project, has been invited by the Office of Social Development and Human Security of Rayong Province to participate in an exhibition booth showcasing the achievements and work of the project, disabled individuals, and caregivers who have undergone training and internships. This exhibition is part of the project to promote the employment of disabled persons in compliance with the Employment of Disabled Persons Act for the fiscal year 2023 and is taking place at Sapphire Room 2-3, Golden City Hotel, Rayong City, Muang District, Rayong Province.
The project has organized exhibitions and distributed products created by disabled individuals as follows:
- The project's products under the brand 'Hed Di' include items made from natural fiber (lucky mushroom, wooden sandals, and turtle) and tie-dye products (tie-dye shirts, bags with drawstrings, etc.).
- The project's 'Sense Series' products consist of two herbal tea formulas, including Red Velvet tea (red tea blended with tamarind and rose) and The Florist tea (oolong tea blended with chamomile, chrysanthemum, and goji berry).
These products have garnered interest from event attendees, who have shown their support by purchasing the items and inquiring about compliance with Article 35 (7) regarding internships. This interest is due to the collaboration between Daniel Company Limited and the Department of Manpower and Employment, which has been conducting training and internships for disabled individuals for over 10 years. They are the sole establishment in Rayong Province following the guidelines of Article 35 (7) on internships. Additionally, the project has received support from the Rayong Provincial Employment Office in presenting tie-dye products to Mr. Anan Nakyiam, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province, during the ceremony.
Furthermore, the activities within the event also included a seminar on 'Promoting Socially Inclusive Employment of Persons with Disabilities,' visits to booths showcasing disabled individuals who have been supported under Article 35 for vocational training, sub-group discussions on compliance with employment laws, and a presentation on 'Best Practices in Accessing Rights under Article 35.' Over 200 companies participated in these activities.
